31 Days of Halloween - Oct. 9

Samantha Kotulak @samantha_kotulak from Snohomish WA wowed us with this dark take on Mother Nature and seasonal changes. We were draw to the beauty she portrays with outdoor elements like leaves, branches and ferns that succumb to the chilly Autumn weather and start to decay. Her take on this visual concept is that life is temporary, but beautiful. We think she did an amazing job executing this idea showing subtle beauty in a rather dark and creepy way. She used Paradise Makeup AQ in array of shades like Mango, Gold and White and muted the color with heavy shading using Black and Storm Cloud. The fine detailed dot work was applied using our Detailz in Black. The facial prosthetic was a rather interesting process since she used our Practice Head and modeling clay to sculpt the shade she wanted, layered it with liquid latex, set it, painted it and then adhered the branches and leaves with hot glue. We absolutely love the final result and found it to be one of the most unique submissions we've seen.
