Ghoulish Looks From the Halloween & Party Expo
19th Jan 2018
It's never to early to think about Halloween at Mehron! As a company with deep roots in performance, it is our favorite time of the year, so we like to extend it any way we can. We actually already started gearing up for it this past weekend at The Halloween & Party Expo. The Mehron team packed up our bloods, kits, latex, spirit gum, 3D gels, Paradise Makeup AQ palettes and more and headed down to New Orleans to get into the spirit of the season.
Attendees at this three-day show experienced the versatility and power of Mehron's performance - and beauty - products. Mehron's Pamela Faller demonstrated a featured look each day, sharing technique and instructing booth visitors on product use and application. The looks drew in Halloween lovers from across the country. People continually stopped by the booth to learn more and take selfies with the ghoulish models - a member of the New Orleans Saintsations and two member of the New Orleans Pelicans Dance Team - as well as watched our live Instagram stories.
Frostbitten Snow Queen
Model: Elizabeth Kiehn, a member of the New Orleans Saintsations
This look was inspired by the films The Mountain Between Us and 6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain, two 2017 movies about surviving in the frigid temperatures and being snowbound. To achieve the look, Liquid Latex and ProColoRing Bruise were applied to create peeling flesh. Hair White and fake snow were used for the hair. Fake snow was also sprinkled all over the body and adhered to the brows with Mixing Liquid. White Paradise Makeup AQ was painted directly onto the lashes to make the model look frozen. Paradise Makeup, Liquid Latex, and ProColoRing Bruise were used for the fingers.
Glam Mummy
Model: Breigh Anna LeBlanc, a member of the New Orleans Pelicans Dance Team
Drawing inspiration again from the screen, this Glam Mummy was inspired by . . . The Mummy. Half glam, half gore is also reflective of the two worlds of Mehron: Beauty and Performance. Liquid Latex, Coagulated Blood Gel, Stage Blood, ProColoRing Bruise and Charred Ash Specialty Powder were used to create the gory parts of the look. The glam eye was created with Metallic Powder, Mixing Liquid, 1927 Liquid Vinyl Makeup, AdGem, Feather E.Y.E Lashes, Gold Paradise Glitter and Brazen Mascara. Metallic Powder and Paradise Glitter were also applied to the lips. Plastic toy beetles and scarabs were adhered to the wounds on the face and chest. The model was then wrapped up in cheesecloth and Halloween gauze. Using the Mark Reid Fan Brush, streaks of Gold Metallic Powder and Paradise Glitter were created all over any exposed skin to keep with the glam theme.
Voodoo Doll
Model: Cailyn Aucoin, a member of the New Orleans Pelicans Dance Team
Being in New Orleans, a Voodoo Doll theme seemed fitting. For this look, Pamela used Extra Flesh, Liquid Latex, ProColoRing Bruise, Coagulated Blood, Stage Blood, and Colorset Powder to create the slits up the sides of the mouth. The black hemp stitches were adhered with AdGem. The eyes were created with Red Earth iNtense Pro Pressed Pigment and Fuller E.Y.E Lashes. Paradise Makeup AQ in White was used underneath the eyes to create the illusion of a large open doll eye, then lined with more Fuller E.Y.E Lashes. The chest piece was an anatomical heart created by liquefying Blood Red 3D Gel and pouring it into a heart shaped mold. Once dry and set, it was peeled from the mod and adhered to the chest with Spirit Gum. Three extra lines of slips and stitches by the heart were created with the same products as used for the mouth. Charred Ash Specialty Powder was dusted over the elbows, wrists, and knees to make her look a little weathered. Black stitches were randomly painted on any exposed skin.
