4th Oct 2018
Looking to be something magical this Halloween? Then you need to check out this Glam Unicorn Makeup Tutorial from Beauty in the Shadows, which was just featured by www.cosmopolitan.com. As Cosmo said, this "extremely extra unicorn look is not your average Halloween costume." It brilliantly combines pastels with metallics, dark hues and sparkly gems into one stunning, mystical creature. Watch the video below to learn how to recreate the look. We have included step-by-step directions beneath the video for easy reference.
Glam Unicorn Makeup Tutorial Step-by-Step Directions
1. Create a base with foundation and concealer. Beauty in the Shadows used Mehron's CreamBlend Stick in Eurasia Ivory and Eurasia Fair.
2. Using Hot Pink iNtense Pro Pressed Pigments, shade the perimeter of your face, the sides of nose, underneath the jawbone, and down the neck.
3. Contour underneath the cheekbones with iNtense Pro in Fire Island.
4. Use the Paradise Makeup AQ Pastel Palette for the lower lash line. Apply the Dark Pink to the inner corner of the eye and blend out to the middle of the bottom lash line. Use another brush and apply the Violet to the inner corner of the left eye. Then apply the Violet to the outer corner of the right eye and blend it into the Dark Pink. Finish by applying the Light Blue to the outer corner of the left eye and blend it into the Violet. The look should be a gradient of pink to purple on the right eye and a gradient of purple to blue on the left eye.
5. Apply the same colors to the lid. Using a fluffy brush, work the Light Blue from the inner corner of the right eye into the crease, stopping halfway across the lid. Next, apply the Violet onto the outer corner of the right eye and blend it into the Light Blue. Move to the left eye and blend the Dark Pink into the inner corner and crease, stopping in the middle of the lid. Then work the Light Blue into the outer corner and blend it into the Dark Pink.
6. Draw and fill in the brows with Paradise Makeup AQ in Dark Pink.
7. Apply Precious Gem Powder in Diamond to the inner corner of the eyes.
8. Use AdGem body adhesive to apply Paradise Glitter in White to the eyelids and top of brows.
9. Select a color that complements your skin tone from the CHEEK Powder palette and apply to the cheekbones.
10. Combine the White Paradise Glitter and Mixing Liquid and use the mixture to highlight above the cheekbones.
11. Combine Pastel Lavender Paradise Glitter with the Mixing Liquid and highlight the hairline.
12. Combine Blue Paradise Glitter with the Mixing Liquid and apply to the hair just above the hairline.
13. Highlight above the brow bones with Highlight Pro Cool palette.
14. Use the pink, blue and purple shades from the Paradise Makeup AQ Pastel Palette to paint down the neck, onto the shoulders and chest in strokes, drips and splatters. Splatter onto the face.
15. Do the same using White Paradise Makeup AQ.
16. Apply Brazen Mascara to the lashes.
17. Adhere the horn to the center of the forehead with Spirit Gum. Secure with Liquid Latex.
18. Brush Black Paradise Makeup AQ along the upper jawline to the ear, over the ear, down to the neck and shoulders.
19. Combine Gold Metallic Powder and Mixing Liquid. Use the mixture to highlight the horn, hairline, cheekbones, neck, shoulders and chest.
