Love that smudgy, slept in my makeup but still look great vibe? While sleeping in your makeup might be the most natural way to get the look, you can create the vibe even if you went to bed makeup free. Mehron's Creative Director Stephanie Koutikas recently shared her tips for creating this cool girl look on byrdie.com. "Lived-in liner is the easiest look to pull off because it is effortless and meant to be messy - truly the answer to those shaky hands who can't draw the perfect line," she says. Stephanie recommends starting with a really good eye primer that will help the eyeliner stay in place and prevent it from smudging beyond the desired smudge area. Next up - liner. To best achieve the smudged look, Stephanie recommends "a soft, creamy eyeliner, such as Mehron's E.Y.E Liner Pencil. Draw a line across the upper lash line and another on the bottom waterline." Be sure to fill in the spaces between your lashes. Then, use your finger or a smudge brush to blend out. Move your finger or brush back and forth, slowly blending, until you get the look you were going for.

Finally, soften and set the liner with eye shadow. Dip a brush into E.Y.E Powder and apply over the smudge, then blend. For maximum impact, keep the rest of the face neutral.
