Marco Marco made history. The designer men's underwear company broke barriers by debuting New York Fashion Week's FIRST fully non-binary show casting transgender TV stars, actresses, writers and models. The runway lineup included Gigi Gorgeous, Trace Lysette, Carmen Carrera, Dominique Jackson, Angelica Ross, Geena Rocero, Aydian Dowling, Hanson Gobron, and Laith Ashley. Internationally acclaimed industry pros James Vincent, Paloma Romo, Pepe Gutierrez and more incredible artists created sultry vintage-inspired looks, unique for each model, with Mehron Makeup for the Spring/Summer '19 show.

"It's all about body and beauty, allowing us to bring across a very '50s inspired look that we are changing to address the personality of each person. I knew that Mehron would allow me to bring across the pieces that I needed given the vast range of products," said James Vincent, makeup lead for the show.

Many show attendees used the hashtag #TransIsBeautiful, which had been started by Laverne Cox back in 2015. Cox, who attended the show, posted about its historic significance on Instagram:

"When I started #TransIsBeautiful 3 years ago I wanted it to be a way for trans folks to celebrate what makes us uniquely and beautifully trans. It wasn't about how cis we can look but rather about celebrating those things about us that are uniquely and beautifully trans. #marcomarcoshow last night which featured a cast or all trans models feels like yet another fulfillment of the empowerment of trans beauty this hashtag is meant to celebrate and engender. Thank you to everyone who has used this hashtag to empower yourselves and each other. Congratulations to everyone in the historic Marco Marco Show last night."

As model Dom Castelano said, it was a monumental show.

Mehron is so proud to be part of this groundbreaking event and its definitive social impact. We couldn't agree more with designer Marco Morante's quote in Mic magazine:

“Although I have always had trans and non binary people in my shows, it became apparent to me that their presence was often overshadowed by cis gay men or cis gay men in drag,” designer Marco Morante said in an interview when asked about the casting. “I wanted to create a space to celebrate trans bodies. This was an opportunity for their presence to be undeniable and reinforce that trans is beautiful.”

Here is a break down of the Mehron products used to achieve the runway looks:

COMPLEXION

Celebré Pro HD Cream Foundation served as the base, followed by Celebré Pro HD Conceal-It Palette and CreamBlend Stick to ensure a flawless complexion. "Celebré Pro makes you HD ready all the time. In this world when even your cell phone is showing so much detail, Celebré Pro has become a must-have for me," says James Vincent. "When you photograph, Conceal-It allows you to get the coverage you need without separation on the camera. The concealer texture absorbs and reflects light differently."

CAT EYE

Each cat eye was carefully created to fit the style and face shape of each model. From little kitten flicks to full on dramatic wings, they were created with 1927 Liquid Vinyl Makeup and amped up with Brazen Mascara. "This liner stays put and allows you to create drastic lines or small little pieces," says Vincent. "I also love this right at the root of the lash. I double it with Brazen Mascara to get extra dimension."

LIDS

ECHO Pressed Glitter PaletteE.Y.E Powder in Simmer and Matte, and CHEEK Powder 8-Color Palette were used to create the various looks. "Glitter fallout can be very dangerous when you're working with clothes. I love to work with Mehron because I'm not worried about compromising the looks," says Vincent.

LIPS

Mehron's new L.I.P Cream Spicy Palette looked hot on the runway. "When you're dealing with so many personalities, there's not a better palette for bringing across those must-haves reds and pinks - L.I.P Cream Spicy Palette," believes Vincent.
