Winter Facial Skin Care Tips
20th Feb 2019
The winter can wreak havoc on your skin, whether you are inside or outdoors. Blustery, cold weather can cause it to be chapped and raw. Dry indoor air can whisk moisture away. A smart facial skin care routine will keep your complexion smooth and supple, while fending off redness and irritation. Here are a few tips to follow during the frosty season.
Take Lukewarm Showers and Baths. A long hot shower or bath may seem like a relaxing retreat from the cold; however, showering or soaking in high temps for long periods of time will result in dry, itchy skin. Opt instead for a short wash with lukewarm water.
Add Moisture Back to the Air. Fight back against the dry air with a humidifier. Use it in the rooms you spend the most time, particularly your bedroom, to hydrate your skin.
Use a Gentle Cleanser. Cleansing gently is especially important in the winter as you don't want to strip skin of its moisture. Remove makeup and impurities with a product like BARED Makeup Remover and Cleanser, which leaves the skin clean, soft and hydrated. Always rinse well and pat skin dry.

Moisturize. A moisturizer is a winter necessity. CARA Moisturizer immediately quenches skin with vitamins and antioxidants. It is formulated with vitamin E, shea butter, aloe vera and acai berry extract to help restore vitality. This nourishing lotion leaves skin feeling soft AND reduces the surface signs of aging. Be sure to apply moisturizer while skin is still damp to help with absorption.
Create a Barrier. Protect skin by blocking cold and dry air from reaching it. Apply a primer over your moisturizer. Velvet Finish Primer is infused with an emollient and anti-oxidant complex. It protects skin with aloe vera extract and vitamin C. This rich serum also creates a perfect canvas by minimizing the appearance of fine lines AND it extends the wear of your foundation and makeup.
